Take High Dynamic Range HDR Photos on HTC One

7:53 AM

The HTC One has a pretty amazing camera, one of the best in the smartphone game. The 4-ultrapixel shooter is one of the most advanced and can take some amazing photos, including great HDR shots.

As a brief refresher, the HTC One is HTC's 2013 Android flagship smartphone. The device runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and simply rocks it! The One sports a 4.7-inch, 1080p display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU and a 4-ultrapixel camera. The One is really the best smartphone this year.

So just how do you take an HDR photo on your HTC One? If you're not sure, you've definitely come to the right place as I am a huge fan of taking photos. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range, and solves the problem of the overexposed and underexposed portion of a image.

To start snapping high-quality, HDR photos on your HTC One, just follow the easy steps below:

  1. From the HTC One home screen, open the camera app.
  2. On the viewfinder screen tap the settings symbol on the left.
  3. Tap HDR in the camera mode list that pops up.
  4. When you're ready to take the first shot, tap the camera icon. Your One will take three shots extremely quickly.
  5. These images will the be merged into a single, high-quality HDR photo, one that isn't under or over-exposed.
That's it! Now you can head on out and start snapping some awesome HDR photographs. The process is easy and can produce some pretty mind-blowing photographs.
