Well, you can root and install TWRP recovery on your HTC Butterfly easily as all that you need to know and follow is being explained and detailed during the present tutorial. Now, before heading to the proper steps, you first have to apply the pre requisites for preparing your smartphone for the installation procedure that will shortly follow. Because of that, first of all complete the tasks included in the list from below.
- Remember that the warranty will get void; you can restore the warranty afterwards, but only by downgrading / updating to stock / official Jelly Bean OS, or by applying an un-root operation.
- It is recommended to backup the HTC Butterfly data before going any further. In the end you might notice that all of your personal info have been erased, so in order to avoid the unpleasant situations, use backup and restore apps from Google Play and save your text messages, call logs, market apps, contacts list and everything else you need to.
- You will have to use a computer or notebook, your phone and its USB cable.
- On both computer and handset, there shouldn’t be running any kind of security tools as these programs might interfere with our work.
- Also, you should be aware as your phone might get turned off while you are trying to root and install TWRP recovery into its system; because of that if you notice that there is less than 60% power left, before starting the steps from below, charge your phone.
- Enable the USB debugging option on your device by going to “Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging”.
- The Android Software Developer Kit must be installed on your computer; if not use our guides and learn how to get ADB: “How to Install Android SDK / ADB on Windows”, or “How to Install / Set Up ADB on Mac OS X / Linux”.
